Gone back to wine-0.9.44 and the problem also appears there.

Disabling pixel shaders in winecfg works, but I dunno how much influence on the
grapics quality this has.

Graphics hardware is a nvidia geforce FX 5900, with nvidia-drivers-100.14.19.
