I'm reopening this because there is a real problem reported here Right, the problem described in my bug which was opened years ago. Nothing was done about it and all focus problems in virtual desktop are due to it.

For the record, I'd like to point out that this bug, as currently described, is *not* a duplicate of bug 9320 -- my analysis (comment #26) which resulted in my renaming to a duplicate of bug 9320 was corrected and reverted in comment #33. This confusion is precisely why I opened bug 20416, which unfortunately did not survive very long! As far as I can tell the bug I reported has been fixed, which is why my analysis fell back to the old bug.
