Just to confirm, this is not the original CD installer, but the download from
Profantasy.com - both an older one (which has worked for me in the past) and a
fresh download made today.

Also, I'm obviously too stupid to notice the Gold 1.5.29 - I was going by the
comments below that.  However, all attempts on my system (Arch) to compile 1.6
or earlier fail with the error

Makefile:165: recipe for target 'parser.tab.o' failed
