Susan, can you check if Henri's patch 232893e0832bf5082285995303c482d50570e5ff solved the issue? If not, can you apply this patch and try again?
Henri's patch solved the issue. (9/27 git used.) Winecfg's button now works and the sound button worked, and I heard a sound. I am still unable to test with NatSpeak because of my installation issue. Let me know if you want me to re-test when the installation is resolved.
