what does "-j 4" do?
man make can tell you that, google can tell you that and i can also tell you that. I will run 4 threads, i.e. when you have 4x CPU it will use all four cores. Idealy it will be four time faster compilation... Doesn't matter if you have just one core. For example i have 4 cores and i run "make -j 16".
