You're absolutely right.
Unfortunately the INVALID wine prefix is created by wine itself. I tested this
during walking through the commits and created a "let me say special user
defined wine prefix".
Additional the resolution highly depend on xorg config as well as detecting the
main video device (in case of presence of more than one video devices).
