I believe captchas to be a better solution than locking parts of the site
behind logins because they reduce friction and the appdb entries could still
appear on google. it could have an automated captcha, a checkbox captcha or a
image recognition captcha depending on how likely the user is to be a bot and
website load, cloudflare offers these captchas
