This bug is also present in the demo version of the first LEGO Star Wars, available at http://download.cnet.com/Lego-Star-Wars-demo/3000-2097_4-10372219.html (using wine 1.5.29).
For me with 1.7.36, the game doesn't respond to any input, in full screen mode. It won't start in a virtual desktop for me either.
