You have to install a codec like Xvid, Indeo, Lagarith, CamStudioCodec or any other in order for the program to be able to do something. After installing the codec go to Options->Video Options to select it. But there seems to be a real bug after all because of the way the program asks for the default compressor which seems to be not supported in wine, I'm investigating.
