Workaround: turn Frame Buffer Effects off.
You can do this in the options menu 
before you start, or via the line
EnableFrameBufferEffects=1
in ~/.wine/drive_c/users/$LOGNAME/My Documents/BioWare/Dragon
Age/Settings/DragonAge.ini
