It's not entirely clear to me yet what happens here, but I believe the
application itself is also drawing over the area covered by the video, to
display some text annotations over and under the video. It seems that both this
and the presentation made by the child window rendering are now fighting each
other. I'm not sure why it worked well before, maybe just by chance.
