For what it's worth, I think these are mostly existing issues, that didn't
affect you before because kwin sets the netwm maximized state on fullscreen
windows. The original bug you described happens for me even before the commit
in question. I'll see if I can reproduce the other issues you mentioned, but so
far I haven't seen those.
