[Bug 24590] [Settlers 7 Demo] Game waits for an event on the splash screen

It works correctly on Windows.  Ubi made some enhancements to I/O handling in
the DLL, and these enhancements turned out to be incompatible with wine.  See
my above message for my suspicions of the nature of the problem.
