I believe this is only a problem on x64 computers. NOTE: Created a new ticket on request of ticket <a href="http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12836">12836</a> This error was on a Ubuntu X64 computer running wine-1.0-rc3 on a ext3 partition.
