[Bug 17334] The app can't get an ethernet adapater info

I've seen this on DNAStar's Lasergene software. I've poked this a little, but
in the end had to fix this for a user quickly and resorted to a VM install, so
I didn't follow through.

Can you provide a +reg,+volume trace to see if this app is looking for the
network adapter the same way as Lasergene is?
