It's still a valid bug and I don't see why it can't be fixed in Wine.

We usually avoid to change function behavior based on the Windows version set
(this would be an easy fix) and we're far away from implementing support for
compatibility fixes. That's why I guess the bug will not be fixed for quite a
long time.
