Tim confirmed he had the same problem with TroopMaster, and advised the workaround he used. I applied the workaround and it resolved my issue as well. I do not know if the problem actually resides/resided in wine. The change to get around the problem (agonizingly slow response time) was to change the background, eliminating the animation feature. Not a big deal and the program functionality remains intact. You are correct -- there was no change to wine to address the issue. Not sure what change would be needed or possible.
