My normal wine installation (with winetools) stops with a blank screen right after starting the game (before the menu). Then I've seen your posting here, Louis. So I checked out wine without winetools: it is starting the demo version of hoi2 pretty fine. And even the scenario is being loaded very quickly. But the ingame speed is rather slow now. I think I'm experiencing the same behavior as Scott Ritchie has described when he opened this bug.
