I've tested the two proposed patches. Is there anything else I can do to improve on the chances for a fix getting approved?
Thanks for testing! No, I think that's all you can do. The problem is that my patch probably introduces a performance hit for a check that is usually unnecessary while Stefan's might not work depending on drivers' uniforms allocation patterns, so we don't have a clear way forward.
