Looks like it works in wine 2.2 on a clean prefix, could anyone confirm this?
Which game version did you test with? I just realized that the crash doesn't occur when only the base game is installed (Victoria 2 v1.x). I have the "A House Divided" expansion installed as well, and the crash does occur with that (Victoria 2 v2.x). I don't own the "Heart of Darkness" expansion which brings the game to version 3.x.
