My video card is an integrated intel GM965 card.

Modifying the registry, now gives me an error when starting The Sims 3 (dont
have a copy of Spore at hand so I cant check that one):

Starting the game is impossible. The 0 device cannot executed this title. Your
graphic card seems to not take Shader Model version 2 or ulterior. Please
update your card
