Do you mean Wine's Wayland backend or Wayland itself?
Wayland backend is WIP, but I don't see how the windowing system would cause a game lo pagefault.
As for Wayland itself, I've been using it as a daily driver on GNU/Linux for a couple of years now without problems, but that's entirely offtopic.
on wine side personally i think have more relation with wine wayland driver development than wayland itself (however wayland have issues compared x, specially notorious when use old apps) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
