If you've been having trouble with this setup, please try this patch and see if it improves your situation. I'm especially hopeful that it will fix the "audio stops after a few minutes" bug with PulseAudio. I am also interested in reports from users without audio problems, to ensure that it doesn't break anything that is currently working.
