This works in Windows Vista and Windows 7 for me. I do not have an installed
copy of Windows XP to test it on right now, but if I remember I will try to
find one at work and test it.

Do you have an English copy of windows? Perhaps the key-mapping is a bit
different.

In either case, I can reproduce this is Windows Vista using the method I've
described.
