Many thanks for response.  I have updated my Mint 17.3  system to Wine 1.8, 
Now I can execute TomTom Home.  Next problem is that it will not connect to the
GPS GO 920.  I will search Wine bugs and Internet to look for a solution before
raising a problem report.  Thank you very much.
