I can confirm this as well. I had no issues with my previous wine setup (compiled it myself wine 1.3.21 with rgl.patch). since i upgraded my system from 11.04 to 11.10 I decided to install lastest wine 1.3.33. This is when my sound problem began. When I run WOW Cataclysm, my sound often cuts out from the get go, sometimes last 1 to 10 minutes. Other times half hour or if I'm lucky, an entire duration of a 5man instance. Occasionally, it comes back when i tweak ingame option Sound where I check/uncheck 'Use Hardware'. Most of the time however i had to reboot game but with the same result.
Currently running 64bit Ubuntu 11.10, PulseAudio.
