There is still a free download available [1] and AO is still very slow in
certain areas.  Borealis is still the easiest place to reproduce the issue,
although it is much faster now than it used to be - this could just be because
hardware got a lot faster in the last 10 years!  On my current machine I get
~100 FPS in most places in AO but that halves to ~50 FPS in Borealis.
