The app passes an https url to InternetOpenUrl without setting the flag INTERNET_FLAG_SECURE. It makes sense to try a secure connection non-the-less.
Can you try this patch?
This patch appears to resolve the bug. I successfully logged in, and the game is now installing.(In reply to comment #40)
Correction. The SSL bug is resolved.
