I have exactly the same bug. I can play several hours until the game either
freezes or throws an error message about "out of memory"

ERROR: Out of memory.  Often caused by out-of-date content (rebuild!), or due
to heap fragmentation!), "Misc" requested 196608 bytes (192.0 kB 0.2 MB)
(204777424 total free (199978.0 kB 195.3 MB))

The error message is exactly the same as shown in the opening posts.
