Ok, let me add something again:
All those who've had some form of success by disabling their audio drivers are invited to turn on as much graphical details as they can run on their hardware and test again.
I noticed that at the same time I switched to the jack audio driver, I had also lowered my graphical details... I did get some crashes in the end, but only after 8-12 hours of gameplay.
If I set to better graphic details, I can run the game for a shorter period of time before I get crash.
The graphics detail lead might not be entirely closed yet I'm afraid... *AND* Kai's crash backtrace does show d3dx9_35.
