I havent been able to run anything but WoW with vkd3d, so i cant give any other
examples to get it working.

AMD have so many different types of drivers mentioned, so i dunno what is
"good" when it comes to Vulkan tho, but are you running WoW with DXVK now?
And does the "gears-vkd3d" demo from the vkd3d package work?
