ok, so to be completely clear:
* I updated the exe of winhlp32.exe from MS to the XP one, and ran it under
wine-1.8-rc1-37-g1d19eb1 -> no italics. no bold either by the way.
* I opened licence.hlp directly from a XP virtual machine -> bold and italics.
