The problem with finding the regression is that since it last worked, I updated my distribution and I guess quite a lot of things changed since then. I tried it with various wine versions down to 1.1.36, but they didn't work, maybe its even older. It worked when I changed from openGL renderer to gdi but then the game was so incredibly slow it no good.
