That problem was fixed a while ago. http://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git/?a=commitdiff;h=9ff19d1d48018e71e75ee4... Although I assume there is some problem with the fix that this is revealing?
In fact the problem still remains in wine 1.2 , 1.3.3 and 1.3.4 . Files can only be opened from word 2007 menu. The other file types used by office 2007 when doubble clicked open in the related application.
