I am receiving the exact same error with MS Communicator 2007 R2 (volume
license). I installed Wine & then MS Communicator to use for work; haven't even
run winetricks yet.

Here is some basic version info, please let me know if there is any other
information required:

- Arch Linux (64-bit)
- wine 1.5.9 (32-bit)

I will use winetricks to work around for now & once completed will add to AppDB
with every step.
