have you tried blanking your ~/.wine and reinstalling it in wine 1.1.30? If still fail, set gdiplus.dll to native. Assure that is a gdiplus.dll file on the Guitar Pro 5 folder.
Well, I have try to install wine-1.1.30 (with blanking ~/.wine) and install GP5DEMO.exe (downloaded v5.2 from the official site). Now GP5 works fine on ny Gentoo system - it doesn't fail and there is no obvious problems.
