Strange, this bug has a lot of votes, but isn't fixed yet!? I also want to have this game running with Wine, please do something...
This game is not very new, even recent games works, but not this game? But i even think nobody looks at our logs! :(
Last I checked, sims 1 wasn't even running properly, let alone the 2nd one. But do not despair! I am sure that it will get fixed, eventually...
