OP had mentioned 2.21-staging *plus pba* to be the 'golden' release in comment
#10, to be fair. 
If you can't test it otherwise, 2.0-staging was the last good one. 

Also for the records of any nvidia user: 390.87 and 396.54 fixed a long
standing important performance regression (just to further mess bisecting,
yay!)
