The problem is unrelated to the patch, the app seems to use a different code
path now (was there an update?). A native override for vcomp90 should be
sufficient, use for example 'winetricks vcrun2008'.

Since you are probably testing with a different version of the app now than the
one which used for reporting the bug, make sure to test that the issue is still
present with an unpatched version of Wine.
