Yeah, I've tried that already.
That only removes this line:
"wine: Unimplemented function d3dx9_36.dll.D3DXFloat32To16Array called at
address 0x7b841e48 (thread 0009), starting debugger... "

It does nothing else, game still crashes on startup.
