My guess was that such query:

fails in XPath mode because of multiple "GraphicOptionInfo" nodes at the same level. Probably XPath requires something like this (I didn't check specs actually):

No, the issue is the default xmlns declaration. XSLPattern syntax doesn't require you to specify the node's namespace in the query string if it's the default namespace.
