I've been getting this same issue with Oblivion since 1.7.34+; before then,
sound works perfectly. I only have headphones and stereo speakers, and issue
happens on both. All devices in winecfg set to stereo. Created a fresh 64-bit
prefix with 1.7.41; problem persists.

OS: Arch Linux x86_64

Btw, I don't currently have any .asoundrc configured.
