I installed wine-staging,wine-staging-amd64,wine-staging-i386
and tried following:
  WINEPREFIX=~/.wine64 WINEARCH=win64 /opt/wine-staging/bin/wine winver

But this did neither show the stack smashing, nor was hanging.
