The short summary is: No application is involved, all I am doing is rm ~/.wine/ -rf && time wine echo This takes more than a minute. I don't have any network printers in the network I am *currently* connected to, but I do have two network printers set up in my CUPS. If I am in the network those printers are in, the above commands takes less than three seconds. When I used to have four network printers, the command took 2 minutes.
