There is another workaround (100% working this time):
Add the following to the steam launch option :-StraightIntoFreeMode -online
Meaning GTA V will launch into the Online mode directly.
You will have a black screen, but about 1 minute (while loading the online mod)
you will be able to enter the game (Alt + Enter).
