However, there was also a bug that prevented using forced alignment together with optimizations (-O1 or higher) and -fstack-check: https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=69140 It has been fixed, but I think it will be months before there's another stable release. Meanwhile, there's a workaround: using -fno-omit-frame-pointer (or alternatively, not using either optimizations or -fstack-check).
