I made some input to better cross-compiling mono, and to modify some of its garbage collector's behavor. (the former was in mono trunk but not all of it was in time for inclusion to 2.4.2; i.e. later mono). In any case, the 2nd-to-latest upgrade of the software (the latest just been released and I haven't upgrade yet) works great with a slightly modified win32 mono.
