Ran winecfg, with the 800x600 desktop option set and got:

err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateBitmap Trying to make bitmap with planes=1,
bpp=32

This seems to be an uncaught warning, and not an error -- if there a 'try'
option to permit detection and 'swallowing' it?
