What video card / driver version are you using?
My system is Ubuntu 8.04 with an ATI Radeon X1650 card with the xorg-driver-fglrx driver, version 1:7.1.0-8-3+2.6.24.12-16.34
Is there a demo for any of these games that show the same problem?
