I'm using in kernel (2.6.20) radeon module for my Xorg 7.2 system and of course I'm aware of the fact that Wine "by definition" cannot update my drivers. But my drivers where fine upto this point and anyway I don't see them being the trouble as I can run wine from other users than my own, when logged in X with my own. And other users is NOT root as you understood it was. When logged in X as user A, A cannot run winecfg but users B to whatever can (if I start a shell for these other users by doing "su B", etc Thanx for any more comments and helpful advices.
